Wrinkle reduction with collagen?

A double-blind, placebo-controlled, independent study involving 69 women was conducted to monitor the effectiveness of the collagen peptides used in Startes® Beauty and Youthfulness products on biophysical indicators of ageing.

After 8 weeks, it was found that in a sample of women aged 35 to 55, skin elasticity improved significantly in the older women in the study – by up to 15% compared to placebo. This effect could be measured after only 4 weeks of oral collagen peptide supplementation.

The second placebo-controlled study involved more than 100 women aged 45 to 65. The study showed that 2,500 mg of the collagen peptides contained in Startes® – Beauty and Youthfulness significantly reduced the volume of eye wrinkles after just 4 weeks, and increased the concentration of type I procollagen in the skin by 65% and elastin by 18%.

In conclusion, daily oral intake of 2,500 mg of the specific bioactive collagen peptides used in Startes® – Beauty and Youthfulness products reduces the appearance of skin wrinkles and has a positive effect on the synthesis of the dermal extracellular matrix.

Of course, younger women can also reap the benefits of anti-aging by replenishing the body’s collagen stores to maintain the health of their hair, skin and nails at a time when the stores are beginning to diminish and ageing is slowly becoming apparent.
